Big shout out to Michael Bromage for having us be part of his super important study on our Creative Underground. The Study aims to learn how the undercurrent of creativity within a regional city like Townsviile can help drive 1. Social inclusion in low social economic demographics. 2. Benefit facilitators and educators. 3. Benefit local businesses who operate accessible Innovation Hubs. The latter and entire study is being supported by our friends at DakTeck who are hosting the study and maintaining the MakerSpace with increased use at Hyde Park.
We are enjoying the catchup and community which is being created and have been inspired to journey on a path of discovery ourselves. Feedback from those we engage has been strong on the need for a place of connection for those with ASD and others whom support. We have pivoted on our journey and with this, been hard at work designing a unique regular program down at the Riverway Mixhaus Makerspace for our local ASD community. A place where through using local council provided resources, we can both activate local MakerSpaces with a free community program, while helping others at the grass-roots level, enter the world of creativity, tinkering, making and innovating. With additional resources lined up through local business sponsorship, the 'Club' (name TBD:) are looking for volunteers to support a fortnightly 2hr fun and engaging, free flowing catchup for our ASD community. If this sounds like you, please visit our Sponsorship and Support page to find out more as well as registering your interest via our Contact page.
